Rooted in Faith. Rising with Calling.

An initiative to equip Westminster Chapel to reach, disciple, and gather people of all ages for generations to come.

Give to RISE

RISE together in giving — to start the work and fuel the vision.

RISE is Westminster’s special giving initiative, above and beyond regular giving.
From now through October 31, we’re inviting everyone to participate in two simple ways:

1. Make a 3-Year Pledge

Pledge the total amount you plan to give between Nov 1, 2025 and Oct 31, 2028. You can give monthly, quarterly, or annually — whatever fits your rhythm.

Make your pledge commitment today, and begin giving toward it starting November 1.

2. Make an Initial Gift

Give a one-time gift by October 31, 2025 to help us start the work right away.
Initial gifts allow us to move quickly and begin building towards the vision.

Why
rise?

God is shaping us for more than comfort. He is forming us into a people—rooted in the gospel and awakened to purpose. The Rise initiative is about stepping forward together: reimagining our campus to unite generations, deepening our investment in the next generation, and building a church where people are known, discipled, and sent.

This is our moment to step into our calling as a light
on the Eastside and beyond. It’s time to rise.

Reimagining Our Campus for Generations

We are creating welcoming, accessible spaces designed to bring every generation together in worship, discipleship, and community—so that Westminster remains a church where families grow in faith side by side.

Investing in Future Leaders of the Church

By launching residency and internship programs, we are raising up the next generation of pastors, leaders, and ministry servants who will carry the gospel forward for decades to come.

Strengthening Families and Rising Generations

We’re investing in deep, intentional discipleship for children, youth, college students, young adults, and families. This means clearer pathways for young adults and college students to find belonging and growth, stronger partnership with parents, and a church culture where rising generations are equipped to walk with Jesus for life.

Expanding Our Reach

We are preparing Westminster to welcome more people as our region grows—optimizing our worship space, improving campus flow, and strengthening our ability to invite and connect new families, neighbors, and seekers to the hope of Christ.

FAQs

General Overview

What is RISE?

RISE is a multi-year discipleship and generosity initiative designed to support Westminster Chapel’s strategic ministry plan. It funds critical building updates that remove barriers to ministry, revitalizes key ministry spaces to better serve emerging generations, and invests in the development of young ministry leaders through internships and residencies.

How long will the RISE initiative last?

RISE is a three-year initiative. Our commitment season begins on Sunday, September 28, 2025, and will last approximately one month. During this time, we invite everyone in the Westminster family to make a three year pledge—a commitment to give over time—as well as consider bringing a first fruits gift, which is a one time, initial gift that helps jump start the campaign.

What are we funding through RISE?
  1. Essential renovations – Foundational stewardship of roofs, windows, and our building envelope to protect our long-term ability to gather and grow in ministry.
  2. Children’s spaces – Creating proximity, safety, and joyful environments that reflect our discipleship strategy.
  3. Sanctuary improvements – Renovating our worship space to better support relational connection, hospitality, and multiple services.
  4. Leadership development – Funding internships and residencies to raise up the next generation of leaders.

Finances & Stewardship

What is the total cost of the project?

The total cost of all phases is $7.5 million, broken up into different phases.

How will we ensure transparency with the money?

A dedicated team, including elders, will oversee all expenditures. This team includes Brad Larkin, Will Pflug, Kent Wiegel, Ryan Falls, and Kjirsten Davies. Regular updates will be provided to the congregation, and all spending will align with the final approved plan and budget.

Will Westminster go into debt to fund the project?

We are committed to no long-term debt whatsoever. Once the pledge season has ended, the elders will prayerfully consider the best stewardship of when to begin and how to phase the project.

Can I give stock, assets, or from a donor-advised fund?

Yes. We can accept multiple forms of giving. Contact Tim Huffman (timh@westminster.org) for details.

What happens if we don't reach our financial goal?

We are taking a phased approach to the initiative. While it is our deep hope to accomplish all phases, we are committed to pursuing only those that are fully funded through pledges. Westminster is God’s church and our family, and we will only go as far as the family’s generosity allows. We trust the Lord to lead each of us in prayerful discernment. Our commitment is to stay at or under budget, which will be set once we finish our pledge season.

Participation & Commitment

How do I decide what to give?

Pray. Talk with your family. Reflect on how God has provided and what He may be inviting you to stretch toward. We’re asking everyone to prayerfully participate—not with equal gifts, but equal sacrifice.

What's the difference between a Pledge and an Initial Gift?

Pledge is the total amount you commit to give between Nov. 1, 2025 and Oct. 31, 20258. An Initial Gift is a one-time gift you give now, before October 31, 2025, to help us begin the work sooner.

When do I start giving toward my pledge?

Pledges start November 1, 2025. You can give monthly, quarterly, annually — whatever rhythm works for your life.

Do Initial Gifts count toward my pledge?

No. Initial Gifts are separate and in addition to your three-year pledge commitment. They help us start moving now.

Can I make a one-time gift instead of a pledge?

Yes. One-time gifts are welcome and will be celebrated along with ongoing commitments. During commitment season, we invite everyone to consider making an initial gift to get the work started, as well as a three-year commitment above and beyond.

Is giving to RISE in addition to my regular giving?

Yes. We’re asking people to give above and beyond their regular giving so we can continue our normal ministries without interruption.

What will success look like for RISE?

Success is full participation. When our church rises together by praying, serving, and giving, we believe God will do more than we can ask or imagine.

Timeline & Next Steps

When is our commitment season?

Our commitment season runs from September 28 to October 26, 2025.

How can I learn more or ask a question?

Visit wcrise.com or email us at elders@westminster.org. We’ll also be hosting Vision Nights and providing regular updates on Sunday mornings.

When will construction start?

The start of construction is TBD based on permitting, final design, and funding. We will keep the congregation informed of timeline updates as they develop.
